Grab your sunglasses and your sandals because it’s time to get out of the house and head to an outdoor patio. Dining outside is a simple pleasure most of us Detroiters can get behind in the summer. Soaking up the sun while enjoying a cold beverage and a delicious meal is second to none, but it’s only made better when the ambiance and scenery are perfect. If you’re looking to dine al fresco this summer, be sure to check out one of these restaurants with the best patios in Metro Detroit.

Atwater Brewery was born in Detroit in 1997. Both their Detroit and Grosse Pointe Park locations have outdoor patios. The Detroit location has a patio up on the second floor. The Grosse Pointe Park location was created out of a church that was built in 1936. The Biergarten patio outside of the church will accommodate 125 people, making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening.
27799 Woodward Avenue, Berkley
Vinsetta Garage comes with a bit of a fun fact: it is the largest standing garage east of the Mississippi River. While it no longer services cars, it is one of the area’s go-to places for great food and a fun atmosphere. The menu is built off of what Detroit area mechanics would have eaten back in the day with a modern twist. Their outdoor patio area and rolling garage doors both face Woodward Avenue and are the perfect place to watch classic cars cruise by during the summer.
